Members of Harold Wood Running Club embraced Ascension Day weekend by travelling to take part in parkruns in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

Back in the UK, Thomas Miller celebrated a major milestone by completing his 100th parkrun at Swanley, Kent recording an excellent time of 22.10.

Rhianna Day was the club’s leading female runner of the week at Valentines with a strong time of 25.06.

Elsewhere, Amolak Dhanjal tested endurance and determination by taking part in the challenging Tough Mudder event.

Five members participated in the Bluebell Five Mile Race, the annual off-road charity trail event organised by Pitsea Running Club in partnership with the Essex Wildlife Trust.

The event was held in Thundersley, Essex, and all entry fees were donated to Havens Hospice.

Meanwhile in Hackney, Antoinette Clark, Emma Houston, Suzanne Easley and her eight-year-old daughter Chloe, took part in the 5k race, while three members tackled the Hackney Half Marathon - London’s biggest half marathon, with over 25,000 runners.

Alison Hagon who ran for the St Mungos, finished in 2:13.40, while husband-and-wife team Sean and Lynsey Mann completed the course in 1:59.04 and 2:24.09 respectively.

Closer to home, 18 club members competed in the South Woodham 10k, a mixed-terrain countryside race around Marsh Farm and the farmland along the River Crouch.
