Hornchurch skipper Ryan Scott insists the Urchins are ready for a busy bank holiday weekend.
Urchins head to Slough Town tomorrow (Saturday) before welcoming Welling United to Bridge Avenue on Monday afternoon.
And Scott knows Daryl McMahon's squad will need to be at their best if they are to pick up more National League South points.
“There is no let-up at this level at all,” said Scott.
“Every game is tough and needs everybody in the squad to be at their best, so this weekend will be exactly the same with the two games.
“Slough scored six last night [at Enfield Town on Tuesday], so they will be confident come Saturday and then recovery will be the key to get ready for Welling on Monday.
“They will both be difficult games, but we’re looking forward to them.”
Hornchurch will head into their next game on a high after beating St Albans City 1-0 on Tuesday night, with Femi Akinwande scoring the only goal of the contest after just 10 minutes.
And Scott felt the Urchins triumphed despite not being at their best in front of a crowd of 682.
“It was a real gritty, hardworking performance and it was great to get another win but being totally honest we played so much better on Saturday and lost,” said Scott, referring to their 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Eastbourne Borough.
“That’s football I guess and shows the importance of being clinical in front of goal.”
Hornchurch were also able to shut St Albans out at the other end of the pitch.
And Scott has been pleased with how the Urchins have started the season from a defensive point of view.
“We have defended well as a unit in all three games so far and conceded very few chances, which is a real positive,” he added.
“It’s not just been the defence but a whole team effort that’s needed to limit the opposition and it’s something we will need to keep up going forward if we want to have a successful season.”
Hornchurch, who romped to the Isthmian League Premier Division title last season, have taken six points from their opening three games of the campaign and are currently sixth in the standings.
Saturday’s opponents Slough Town are fifth, also with six points to their name, while Monday’s visitors to the Hornchurch Stadium, Welling United, are 15th with three points from two games.
