Romford Buccaneers head coach Jason Buckman believes his side are ready to take on Slough in the National League Division One South play-offs this weekend.
Buccs host the first leg of their quarter-final tie at the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre on Saturday (5.15pm), before the return meeting at Montem Lane on Sunday (6.30pm).
And Buckman's young side are looking to upset the formbook and seal a place at finals weekend at Alexandra Palace on April 6-7, having ended the regular season with defeat at Solent and a home win over MK Thunder.
"They were a competitive couple of games which have helped us get ready for Slough," said Buckman.
"We now start preparing for Slough with some good training and review some footage from the regular season games against them.
"We will have a full line-up so will look forward to the games. If the regular season games are anything to go by it should be a hard-fought contest.
"I just hope we have a strong referee who sees everything and lets the guys play out a competitive play-off tie the right way."
Buccs lost all four meetings with the Jets in the regular season, but picked up points from two overtime defeats on the road.
They returned empty-handed from Solent last weekend, as five-goal Liam Coleman led the Devils to a 7-3 victory.
Brynley Capps, Shay Woolmore and Kobe Grinell-Parke netted for Buccs, who trailed by a single goal after 40 minutes.
"Solent is always a tight small rink and can take a period or more to adjust," added Buckman.
"After losing the lead early we showed great character to bring it back level at 3-3.
"I felt we lost our way a little bit late in the game, but with a couple of guys carrying knocks we was happy to see out the game without anything serious injury-wise."
Capps, Ewan Hill and Woolmore had Buccs 3-0 up on home ice the following night, before Thunder hit back.
And two more goals from Capps, either side of efforts from Artjoms Kazaks and Nathan Long, put them 7-1 up before the visitors grabbed a late consolation.
"We dominated most of the game and after not converting chances in the last couple weeks a few guys got on the scoresheet finding the net so that was pleasing to see," said Buckman.
"A couple of guys were rested and others saw less ice time later in the game which gave the young guys an opportunity."
Ellie Wakeling misses the action this weekend after flying out to Latvia with the Great Britain women for their World Championship Division 1B campaign.
The 21-year-old will be adding to her 12 caps - having played 20 times for the under-18s - as GB take on Italy (Sunday), Poland (Sunday), Slovakia (Wednesday), Slovenia (April 5) and hosts Latvia (April 6) in Riga.
