Romford Buccaneers head coach Jason Buckman wants to use their last three games of the regular season to build momentum going into the play-offs.
Buccs visit Oxford City Stars in National League Division One South on Sunday, then travel to Solent on Saturday week before hosting MK Thunder the following day.
And they know they will then face Slough Jets in a two-legged play-off over Easter weekend, for the right to compete in the finals weekend at Alexandra Palace on April 6-7.
"We have Oxford away this Sunday. I think it’s a game we can win, and gives us an opportunity to work on some plays and maybe different line match-ups," said Buckman.
"We have three games to prepare for a tough quarter-final against Slough.
"We have had some good battles against Slough this year and took them to overtime in both games in their rink.
"Hopefully we can build some confidence building up to that weekend and be physically and mentally ready for those big games."
Buccs were left empty-handed after a close-fought encounter with Invicta Dynamos at Romford's Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre last weekend.
Donald Campbell put them in front early in the middle period, but the visitors hit back with a quickfire brace around the midway mark to turn things around.
Brynley Capps levelled matters with his 37th goal of the season, on the powerplay nine minutes from time, and it looked like ending all square.
But Invicta struck twice in the last 30 seconds of regular time to skate off with a 4-2 victory to the disappointment of Buckman.
"I was really pleased with large parts of the Invicta game, especially the first period in which we outshot them 22-8," he added.
"Any other day I think a lot of our forwards would’ve scored one or two goals and the period end with a two or three-goal lead.
"What is disappointing in the end is to lose the game. [It's] 2-2 with under a minute to go, a missed defensive zone assignment and Dynamos score.
"But it’s a lesson learnt and if anything I’d rather the team make the mistakes now, review and move forward to play-offs."
