A local youngster is taking on a swimming challenge to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Nine-year-old Fletcher Waugh has set himself a target of swimming 8k in a day, which means 320 lengths of the pool at Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre.
"The hospital have helped a lot of children and I have some friends who they have also looked after," he said.
Since joining Killerwhales Swimming Club in November, Fletcher has not looked back and ‘absolutely loves it’.
So it made sense to complete his courageous challenge at the home of the Killerwhales on Monday (October 16).
"If I’m swimming long distance in training I sometimes sing in my head so I will probably do that on Monday. I'm just going to keep going, I'm determined to not give up!’’ he added.
Fletcher hopes to raise £250 for Great Ormond Street Hospital to keep delivering its life-changing work and donations can be made to his JustGiving page.
