Clapton Community came out on top in an eight-goal thriller with May & Baker in Thurlow Nunn League Division One South on Friday.
Muhammed Mikaeel put them in front from a Noah Adejokun pass at Aveley's Parkside Stadium, with provider turning goalscorer to double the advantage.
Bakers hit back straight away to halve the deficit, but Arthur Wright restored the two-goal gap after the restart when getting in behind the home defence and finishing well.
Adejokun picked up another assist when pulling the ball back fro Jeff Twumasi to make it 4-1, but Bakers claimed their second from close range through substitute Modou Diop Gueye.
Fred Taylor made it 5-2 on his return to action, after good work by Dean Bouho, and a late third for Bakers from Remi Awosanya proved only a consolation.
Clapton Community are now unbeaten in five games and sit in second place behind Burnham Ramblers.
