Several secondary schools in Havering are shutting early this week due to the "extreme" hot weather.
The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for "extreme heat" on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25) and a further amber warning on Friday (June 26) - with Havering bracing itself for temperatures of up to 37 degrees.
Many schools across the borough have put in place measures in response, such as early closures and relaxing school uniform rules, but no secondary schools have announced full closures at the time of writing.
