M&S has announced nine target locations in Havering where it hopes to open new food stores.
Nine areas across the borough have been earmarked as potential locations for new Marks & Spencer stores as the supermarket aims to double the size of its food business.
The locations - which include Collier Row, Harold Wood and south Romford - are among 200 places in London to make it onto M&S' wish list.
The retailer is looking for sites which could provide a trading space of between 6,000 and 18,000 sq ft, to allow for wider aisles, larger car parks and an extended range of food.

It ultimately aims to grow the business to 180 full line stores and 420 food stores across the UK, and hopes more customers will do their weekly shop at M&S.
Other locations in east London have also been listed, including Barking station, Hainault, Walthamstow and Bethnal Green.
Alex Freudmann, managing director of M&S Food, said: "The strong performance of our new M&S food stores gives us the confidence to explore even more locations across the UK.
"With more than 20 stores opening or modernised before the end of the financial year, we are moving faster.
"Our team want new sites where we could open a large M&S Food store as we deliver on our strategy to bring the right stores to the right places and offer the best shopping experience, range and availability for our customers."
In Havering there is an M&S store in The Liberty shopping centre, Romford; a Simply Food store in Station Road, Upminster, and a Food To Go store at the Southend Arterial Road BP.
