Police are investigating after a man was assaulted outside a Hornchurch pub in the early hours of the morning.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at around 2.20am today (October 27) to a pub in North Street with reports of an assault outside the venue.
At the scene, the victim was discovered with facial injuries sustained during the incident.
A Met spokesperson has revealed that the injured man had been hit with a gas canister.

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances and there has yet to be an arrest made.

The London Ambulance Service has been contacted for a comment.
