Romford town centre's Wetherspoons pub reopens tomorrow after months of refurbishment works - and the Recorder has had a sneak peek inside.
The Moon & Stars, in South Street, will welcome customers once again on Tuesday (October 22) at 8am, the chain confirmed last week.
The town centre pub has been closed since July 1 - undergoing extensive refurbishment works, including structural changes to make more space in the customer area and a revamp of the roof terrace.
Several of the pillars have had their width reduced to free up space in front of the bar, with more stools and circular tables put in place in this area.
New gambling machines have also been installed towards the front of the pub.
The Moon & Stars kitchen manager Casey Hall told the Recorder he was looking forward to welcoming customers back "to the pub they know and love" but with a "refreshed" feel.
He said: "All the staff are really excited to be back here working.
"We all get on really well as a team, and everyone's really excited to get into what is hopefully a nice busy opening week."
When the Recorder arrived to look behind the scenes, the final finishing touches were being put in place - including blue and gold balloon arches.
The Romford pub was originally meant to reopen on July 30 after the refurbishment works, but this reopening was pushed back by almost three months.
A Wetherspoon spokesperson previously thanked customers for their patience while the pub has been closed, saying that they "look forward" to welcoming their "loyal" customers back.
The only part of The Moon & Stars customers will not be able to access tomorrow is the redesigned roof terrace, which is expected to open on December 16.
The Moon and Stars opened in 1994 in a premises formerly occupied by Bonbon Ladies' Fashions, according to its Wetherspoons listing.
