An 18-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Newham.
The incident between a Nissan Juke car, a pedestrian and another car happened in Barking Road just before 3.45pm yesterday (October 15).
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a woman injured.
She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
Her next of kin have been notified.
The driver of the Nissan Juke, a 45-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was taken to hospital for treatment before being taken into police custody where he remains at this time.
Cordons and closures were put in place as the incident was dealt with by emergency services
These have since been lifted.
