A 61-year-old man is potentially in a "life threatening" condition after a crash in Hornchurch.
Police were called at 2.21pm today (October 8) to Airfield Way, Hornchurch, after reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended the scene and a 61-year-old man was taken to hospital.
His condition is being treated as potentially life-threatening.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene.
There has been no arrests at this stage and investigations continue.
London Ambulance Service sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 2.21pm to Airfield Way, Hornchurch, after reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
"Officers responded with LAS and London's Air Ambulance.
"The 61-year-old man has been taken to hospital. His condition is being treated as potentially life-threatening.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene.
"There have been no arrests.
"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."
