October is officially upon us, and with it pumpkin picking season.
To help you celebrate with spooky festivities, we have put together a list of pumpkin patches within an hour's drive of Havering.
Farmer Scott's
Located in Coxtie Green Road, Brentwood, this pumpkin patch is less than a 15 minutes' drive outside of Havering.
The business is family run, with Farmer Scott's three sons joining him in the endeavour.
The pumpkin field will open to the public from October 25 to October 31.
Tickets are priced at £5 per person, permitting entry to the patch.
Families can explore the fields of homegrown pumpkins and get a free standard size pumpkin included in the price.
Pumpkin Picking Village
This pick your own pumpkin patch is located in Marsh Farm Road, South Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford.
Visitors can enjoy Halloween photo opportunities, a Halloween shop, and squash picking as well as picking their own pumpkins.
Pumpkins here start from £3, but please note that the farm is cashless.
Tickets are priced between £2.99 and £5.99 when pre-booked depending on the day.
Pumpkin Patch, Foxes Farm
Foxes Farm's Basildon pumpkin patch is located at Watch House Farm, Wash Road, SS15 4ER.
Their pick your own pumpkin events have been running since 2015, according to the website.
Bookings are accepted online to order required tickets for customers.
The patch offers more than 30 varieties of pumpkins and squash, from the giant orange pumpkins to the mini white squash.
A field of fun at the patch includes a bale mountain, tractor rides, sack racing, scavenger hunt and more.
Hurley's Pumpkin Forest
Just over a 30 minutes' drive from Havering, Hurley's Pumpkin Forest can be found at Hurley’s Farm in Woodham Road, Wickford.
Booking is required to pick pumpkins at this patch, with several booking options including for twilight pumpkin picking tickets.

The Green Barn
Located in North Benfleet Hall, Benfleet, this pick your own pumpkin patch is less than an hour's drive from Havering.
It is another family run farm that offers access to its pumpkin fields for just £5.
The site also has a maize maze that customers can book tickets for.
