A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash at a major roundabout in Romford.

Emergency services rushed to Gallows Corner just after 6pm yesterday (October 2), following reports of a collision on the A12 westbound near the junction with Straight Road.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service crews found a car in collision with a motorbike at the scene.

The motorcyclist was treated by an ambulance crew before being taken to hospital - however, their injuries were deemed "not to be life threatening or life changing".

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage.

They said: "Police were called at 6.08pm on Wednesday, October 2 to reports of a road traffic collision on the A12 westbound, near the junction with Straight Road, RM3.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a car in collision with a motorbike.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing."

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service added that they were called at 6.13pm yesterday "to reports of a road traffic collision in Gallows Corner, Romford".

They confirmed that they sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew.

Facebook users commented that the roundabout was part closed after the incident, but this has not been confirmed by the emergency services.
