A man is in a major trauma centre with "an injury to the neck" following a crash involving a motorbike in Harold Wood.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called at 6.08am this morning (October 1) with reports of a crash in Squirrels Heath Road.
An ambulance crew and a medic in a fast response car were dispatched to the crash site, accompanied by members of the London Fire Brigade (LFB).
Around 15 firefighters in two fire engines and a fire rescue unit from stations across Harold Hill, Romford and East Ham attended the incident.
At the scene, a person was found with injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.
A spokesperson for LFB said: "Firefighters were mobilised to a road traffic collision on Squirrels Heath Road in Romford.
"One vehicle and one motorbike were in collision with each other. One adult man suffering an injury to the neck was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.
"Firefighters worked to assist emergency service colleagues and make the scene safe."

The emergency was over by 6.52am, through Squirrels Heath Road remains affected.
The road is blocked between Beltinge Road and Rosslyn Avenue, and buses 256, 294, 646, and 656 are running on diversion in both directions.
Routes will not serve stops from or to Rosslyn Avenue, St Peter's Church, Recreation Avenue and Southend Arterial Road.
