A man in his 30s is in a "critical condition" after he was stabbed on a residential street in Upminster this morning.

Emergency services attended Marlborough Gardens, in Upminster, at around 10am this morning (September 20) after reports a man had been stabbed.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the man, aged in his early 30s, is in a "critical condition".

He was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew, with London's Air Ambulance also present, before being taken to hospital by road.

A crime scene is in place and no arrests have been made, police said.

Havering Council said in a post on X that Marlborough Gardens is closed - with "traffic disruption" reported in the area as a result - however the Met have not confirmed whether this closure is linked to the incident.

Police urged anyone with information to get in touch.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 10am on Friday, 20 September to reports of a man stabbed on Marlborough Gardens in Upminster.

"Officers and London's Air Ambulance attended. The man, who is aged in his early 30s, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

"A crime scene is in place. 

"There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 reference CAD 2034/20Sep."
