A crash that has closed a road near a hospital involved a car that was being "pursued by police".
Hainault Road, near King George Hospital, was closed after a collision at around 4pm today (September 17), causing huge delays on A12 Eastern Avenue.
The Met Police have confirmed that this crash followed a police chase - and that two occupants of the car have fled the scene on foot.
There are no reports of any "serious" injuries, however one man was taken to hospital "as a precaution".
A MINI was pictured at the scene with is front bumper and wing mirror smashed off, and one of its front wheels further down the road.
Hainault Road remains closed while the scene is dealt with, and slow traffic was reported on A12 Eastern Avenue as late as 7pm.
The route 296 bus was diverted between Eastern Avenue and Barley Lane, and Eastern Avenue West and Mawney Road.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said work is "ongoing" to locate the two occupants of the car that fled the scene, and enquiries continue.

The spokesperson said: "At approximately 4pm on Tuesday, September 17, a car that was being pursued by police was involved in a collision in Hainault Road.
"Two occupants of the car fled the scene on foot – work is ongoing to locate them.
"No reports of any serious injuries. One man was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Road closures are in place while the scene is dealt with."
