Anyone fancying a coffee and cake can pop into a funeral parlour in Romford and help raise money for those affected by cancer.
Staff at the Co-op Funeralcare in North Street are inviting wellwishers in for a cuppa and a chat on September 25, from 10.30am to 1pm, as a fundraiser to support the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
“It’s common for people to have been personally affected by losing loved ones,” Romford Co-op funeral arranger Michelle Dulieu said. “Meeting others who’ve had a similar experience can be comforting and can help establish a support network afterwards.”

The support gatherings have been held for several years and often feature things like first aid workshops and craft sessions.
The funeral home also runs a monthly bereavement café, offering a space for those who have lost relatives and friends to cancer to get support during what can be a difficult time for them.
