Proposals for a public carpark within the grounds of a primary school continue, according to this week's planning applications.
Havering Council has received 23 applications for a variety of developments in the borough.
We have summed up the most notable applications and included them for ease below.
Hylands Primary School, in Granger Way, has submitted a variation (P1153.24) to the parking areas of its previous submission.
The school wants to permanently permit the cark park to be used for the wider
community.
The wider proposals to expand the primary school were granted planning permission in February 2023.
The conditions stated that until August 11 this year, the area set aside for car parking would be retained for the community but after that date, the car park would only be for vehicles visiting the school and "shall not be used for any other purpose".
Consultations will now be carried out.
Another application is at the Elms Industrial Estate, in Church Road, Harold Wood (P1062.24).
The regeneration proposal is to demolish but also retain and refurbish some existing buildings.
The purpose is to retain the site for BB employment uses which could refer to a zero-hours contract, which is also known as casual contracts.
A large portion of the site will be available for open storage to help address a 'known demand' for it, said the agent.
In Hazell Crescent, Romford there is a retrospective application (P1033.24) to change the use of a residential dwelling to include a dog care business.
In Woodlands Avenue, Hornchurch (P1132.24) the applicant plans to enclose their existing outdoor swimming pool and include a jacuzzi, massage, changing room and plant area, and extend and refurbish the existing poolside building at the back of the site.
In Hillview Avenue (P1143.24) the proposal is for a two storey side extension, single storey rear extension with raised platform down into the garden and erection of front porch canopy with stairs.
Over in Highfield Close, Romford, the application (P1127.24) is to demolish a conservatory and replace it with a single storey rear extension following the demolition of existing rear conservatory.
Work has already begun in Court Way, Romford ( P1133.24).
The applicant has submitted a part retrospective application to erect a wooden gazebo at the back of the property.
Any comments must be received within three weeks of August 27.
Detailed documents on every application can be found on the council's website.
