A man has been rushed to hospital after a crash on M25 near Brentwood.
East of England Ambulance Service said that it was called to the incident on the clockwise carriageway of the motorway this afternoon (August 21).
The crash took place between junction 28 and 29, causing long delays.
One man was rushed to Queen’s Hospital for “further assessment and care”.
It came as National Highways reported that a car fire had closed two lanes of the same carriageway between junction 27 and junction 28.
At around 4.30pm, the highways agency said that emergency services were at the scene, causing delays of around an hour.
The incident was cleared before 5pm, although congestion remained for another hour.
It is not clear if the crash and the reported car fire are related or separate incidents at this time.
Essex Police and Essex Fire Service have been contacted for more information about the incident.
