A chicken shop in Romford town centre hopes to open until 1am every day.
Dixy Chicken, in Old Mill Parade, Victoria Road, has applied to extend its opening hours from midnight until 1am, seven days a week.
SA Maintenance submitted a planning application, on behalf of the chicken shop, to Havering Council on August 12, to vary a condition that states when it can open.
Dixy Chicken argues that this condition - which was put in place in 2000 and prevents the restaurant from opening past midnight - is outdated today, as Romford has become a more "active" area for late-night hospitality.

In the planning document, the takeaway restaurant said: "For over two decades, things have changed in Romford centre.
"After the Elizabeth line opened, Romford became more connected to central London, known for its active nightlife and late operation hospitality."
It added: "All require more active hospitalities that should operate in line with the centre of London or it may result in visitors seeking other areas, which may impact the local business.
"Therefore, extending the restaurant opening hours by at least one hour after midnight will provide the growing area with the needed hospitality services and, in general, it will support the local economy."
Havering Council will make a decision on the application by October 7.
Another takeaway, McKlunky's in Hornchurch, recently had its application to stay open until 2am refused by the council.
This refusal was down to concerns that the extended opening hours could lead to more crime and disorder in the area.
