A crane truck driver who drifted between lanes dangerously on the motorway has been banned from driving.
David Sharp, of Campion Close in Chatham, Kent, was disqualified from driving for 19 months at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on July 16.
It comes after the 35-year-old was arrested by Essex Police on the hard shoulder of M25 near Brentwood in January this year.
Police had pulled Sharp over after receiving a call about a truck, which had a crane on the back, being driven dangerously southbound down the M11.
A concerned driver reported the truck drifting between lanes, braking unnecessarily and driving along the hard shoulder several times.
Sharp pleaded guilty to all charges – dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and two counts of obstructing an officer – at a court hearing that same month.
He was given an interim driving ban at that time.
Earlier this month, he was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and fined.
