A Brentwood man has been charged with the rape of an underage girl and a string of child exploitation offences.
Timothy Brown, 36, of Vernon Crescent, appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on Monday (July 1) charged with 15 offences including rape and child exploitation.
Brown was charged on suspicion of raping a girl aged 13, 14 or 15, three counts of arranging travel of someone with a view to exploitation, and two counts of causing a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity.
This comes after an Essex Police investigation launched in June 2023 into sexual offences against children.

The 36-year-old was remanded in custody and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on July 29.
He has also been charged with the following:
- Assault of a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm, and two counts of meeting a girl under 16 after grooming.
- Two counts of causing a child, aged 13 to 15, to look at an image of sexual activity.
- Engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, two counts of producing a controlled class B drug, and custody or control of a thing knowing it was a counterfeit currency note.
