The car park of the pub has been pictured cordoned off whilst work is under way.
An employee at The Tollgate told this paper on June 14 they are on track with the refurbishment works to reopen this coming weekend.
The pub is expected to have a "new look" according to Sizzling Pubs & Grill, a local pubs chain of which The Tollgate is a part of.
Changes to the venue are expected to modernise the interior, including the paint, carpets and bathrooms.
