A new map has been released revealing the routes that could soon see express Superloop buses.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said he plans to double the number of Superloop services from 10 to 20.
These new routes, dubbed Superloop 2, were announced in the run-up to Khan’s re-election as Mayor earlier this month.
Although the final routes have not yet been finalised, the proposals include two new services in east London.
Sadiq Khan told The Standard: “The success of the Superloop is one of my proudest achievements as mayor, connecting Londoners to key locations in outer London and getting more people onto public transport.
“It has been nothing short of a game changer - making journeys quicker and more convenient.
“The proposed new routes will all be subject to consultation with Londoners, but I’ve asked Transport for London to start looking at how they could best serve key locations – whether popular town centres, other transport hubs or public services like hospitals.”
Existing Superloop routes in east London include SL1 (Walthamstow Central to North Finchley), SL2 (Walthamstow Central to North Woolwich) and SL4 (Canary Wharf to Grove Park).
The two additional routes for east London are listed here:
- Stratford to Barnet, via Walthamstow, Chingford and Enfield
- Leytonstone to South Havering, via Gants Hill and Romford
