Four vehicles, cylinders and an outbuilding were destroyed following a blaze in a scrapyard.
Firefighters from Basildon, Chelmsford and Orsett were called to a scrapyard near Mores Lane, Brentwood, just before 1pm on Monday.
Crews surrounded the flames to stop them spreading further.
The fire was under control at about 2.30pm and crews left the scene just before 6pm.
Incident Commander Jason Gould said: "Crews have done a great job to surround the fire and stop it from spreading further.
"There were four vehicles alight including cylinders and a small outbuilding.
"An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out later today."
