Wood Lane has since been closed partly from Becontree Leisure Centre up to the junction of Whalebone Lane.
The Transport for London website suggests bus route 5 is on diversion in both directions via Heathway, Oxlow Lane and Rainham Lane North.
Buses towards Romford, it said, are not serving stops from Heathway (K) to Becontree Heath Leisure Centre (G). Buses towards Canning Town / Oxford Circus are not serving the stops Becontree Heath Leisure Centre (H) and Morris Road (E).
Images shared by local people showed the fully charred roof of the pub and the blaze that ripped through it.
The pub is believed to have been vacant since 2010 after it was taken over by a new owner in November 2008 who redecorated and reopened it.
It was targeted in a suspected arson attack in 2010 when a 28-year-old man managed to escape the fire without injury.
