Havering is among the top five London boroughs for the level of car thefts and Brentwood is the most targeted town in the UK for the crime, according to analysis by a security company.
Havering had 316 car thefts in the financial year 2023/24 at a rate of 1.25 incidents per 1,000 people, according to research of government data from ADT.
Just four boroughs scored higher than Havering, including second place Barking and Dagenham, which had 1.31 car thefts per 1,000 people.
Brentwood was the area most targeted by car theft in the country, according to the research, with 1.84 incidents per 1,000 people.

Havering had 30 fewer thefts than Haringey in north London, a borough with a similar population at 264,100 people.
Data used was taken from government statistics including the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, ADT said.
