The M25 in Essex is set to be closed clockwise between junctions 27 at Epping and 28 at Brentwood (Brook Street Roundabout) until around 6am tomorrow morning (December 24) after a serious crash.
The motorway has been blocked clockwise since the accident, which involved a car, at around 9.30pm.
National Highways East tweeted to say that all emergency services were in attendance at the scene and that the closure is likely to be in place until tomorrow morning.

The road is expected to remain closed until 06:00 tomorrow morning.

Many have taken to X to say they are caught in the closure.
Rebecca Larkin wrote: "Yes, being stuck in traffic is tedious. But for those complaining about being stuck in the M25 closure, be grateful that you are safe in your car. For the road to be closed, that is clearly not the case for those involved!!"
