A person died after being struck by a train at Harold Wood station.
British Transport Police (BTP) was called to the station shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (October 18) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics attended the scene but the person was pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for BTP has said the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Rail operator Greater Anglia said in a social media post that some lines were blocked between Romford and Shenfield following the incident.

Disruption lasted until around midnight.

Greater Anglia said on its website that it was “sorry for the disruption”.
Advance ticket holders were allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service was cancelled.
It also offered compensation for a portion of the fare if the journey was delayed by 15 minutes or more.
