More children in Havering have been offered a place at one of their top three preferred primary schools compared to last year.
Havering Council said that more than 96 per cent of children in the borough were allocated a place at a school ranked in their top three preferences yesterday (April 18), a slight increase on 2022 (more than 95pc).
This year the authority said that nearly 89pc of children were offered their first choice primary school, compared to more than 90pc last year. This was roughly in line with the London average.
Cllr Oscar Ford, Havering cabinet member for children and young people, said: “Havering has once again performed superbly in allocating places to children starting school this September.
“With all our schools now rated 'good' or better, pupils and parents will be pleased that their children will be receiving a top quality education.
“My thanks go out to the school admissions team and everyone who has worked so hard over the past few months to provide support to parents in achieving their preferred school.”
