Romford Buccaneers head coach Jason Buckman says they have to pull together heading into another tough weekend in National League Division One South.
They welcome Invicta Dynamos to the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre on Saturday (5.15pm), before visiting local rivals Chelmsford on Sunday (6pm).
And Buccs go into those fixtures after losing to the Chieftains and MK Thunder last weekend.
"A hard lesson and steep learning curve for this young Buccaneers side," said Buckman.
"We all have to pull together as a team positively and learn, moving forward how we can minimise the mistakes as a team going into another tough weekend."
Twins Cameron and Grant Bartlett put Chelmsford 2-0 up in the first period of the Essex derby to leave Buccs up against on Saturday.
And Grant Bartlett grabbed his second in the middle session, with Oleksandr Maltsev and Kieran Raynor also on target before Luca Pascale claimed a consolation.
"Going into the game Saturday full of confidence it took us two periods to get going and by then it was probably too late, but to win the last period 1-0 was small consolation," added Buckman.
"A few defensive errors led to goals, and when you’re playing these teams with the offensive firepower they have, you cannot hand them goals on a plate."
Buccs fell behind in Milton Keynes on Sunday, but Brynley Capps and Sam Austin put them 2-1 up before the hosts struck twice in 38 seconds.
Joe Tomalin levelled it up in the final session, but Thunder struck twice in the last 2.10 of play to skate off 5-3 winners.
"I was hoping to see a positive bounce back but again, some defensive errors led to preventable goals," said Buckman.
"A really disappointing weekend and we had a chat as a team after the Sunday game and they have to understand mistakes are a normal part of the game.
"It’s how we react to those mistakes and prevent them from happening regularly."
