Winter fuel payments are set to be cut for most pensioners after the government won a vote in the House of Commons. 

MPs voted on a Conservative motion calling for the planned cuts to winter fuel payments to be blocked yesterday (September 10).

A total of 228 MPs - mostly Conservatives - voted 'Aye' for the motion opposing the cuts, whereas 348 MPs backed the government with a 'No' vote.

Romford - Andrew Rosindell

Conservative MP Andrew Rosindell did not record a vote.

A spokesperson for Mr Rosindell said that he was unable to vote as he was at an emergency medical appointment, although he "certainly would have voted against the cuts".

Hornchurch and Upminster - Julia Lopez

Conservative MP Julia Lopez voted 'Aye' - to block the planned winter fuel payment cuts.

Dagenham and Rainham - Margaret Mullane

Labour MP Margaret Mullane voted 'No' - backing the government's planned cuts.

Barking - Nesil Caliskan

Labour MP Nesil Caliskan voted to cut winter fuel payments, in line with the government.

Ilford North - Wes Streeting

Labour MP and Health Secretary Wes Streeting voted 'No'  - backing the government's planned cuts to winter fuel payments.

Ilford South - Jas Athwal

Labour MP Jas Athwal voted to cut winter fuel payments, in line with the government.

East Ham - Sir Stephen Timms
