Briar Road, Harold Hill, Romford: Man in his 20s stabbed

Emergency services were called to Briar Road, Harold Hill, at around 2.20pm on Thursday (July 18) to reports that a man in his 20s had been stabbed.

An ambulance crew treated the man at the scene, and London's Air Ambulance was also called.

The man was taken to a major trauma centre by road, although his injuries are "not believed to be life-threatening".

Officers put a crime scene in place, with a forensics van also seen in Briar Road.

The Met Police said there have been no arrests and they are continuing with enquiries into the incident.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "Police were called at about 14:20hrs on Thursday, 19 July to reports of a man stabbed on Briar Road in Romford.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

"The man, who is aged in his 20s, has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A crime scene is in place."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.

"Our crews treated one man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road."

There are no further updates on the man's condition this morning.
