Three men have been arrested in Harold Wood after a police chase.
Police today (July 10) arrested men aged 28, 30 and 36 on suspicion of going equipped and conspiracy to commit theft of a motor vehicle.
At about 1am today, police spotted a Ford Kuga in Squirrels Heath Road and followed the vehicle which allegedly failed to stop.
"The rear seat passenger fled from the vehicle in Coombe Road with a rucksack," police said. "The Kuga continued to flee from officers."

Police caught the passenger who was detained after being allegedly seen discarding the rucksack.
It contained scanning equipment used to steal vehicles with keyless entry, police said.
Balaclavas, gloves, angle grinders, blades and tools were also found in the Kuga which was stopped a short time later.
The arrested men remain in custody at an east London police station.
Police have sought to address an increase in car theft offences in Havering through patrols.
