A woman was mauled to death by XL bully dogs at a home in Hornchurch, it has been revealed.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to Cornwall Close at 1.12pm today (May 20) with reports of a woman having been attacked by a dog.
Armed officers were dispatched to the cul-de-sac. Two dogs had been secured in a room in the property and were seized by police.
The woman, who was in her 50s, was administered treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene.

London's Air Ambulance was in support of emergency responders.
The charity is only called to respond to London's most seriously ill patients, with specially trained paramedics in their crew.
The woman's family and dog owners are being supported by the Met, a police spokesperson said.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.09pm today (Monday 20) to reports of an incident in Cornwall Close, RM11.
“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance.
“We treated a person but sadly, despite our efforts, they were pronounced dead at the scene.”
