Police have issued an update after a body was found in a park, confirming the age and gender of the deceased.
The Metropolitan Police today (February 20) said that a body found at Paines Brook Recreation Ground in Harold Wood last month was that of a 50-year-old man.
This comes after police were called at around 8.05pm on January 28 to reports a body had been found in the green space, which has several schools nearby.
A police spokesperson added that the death is still not being treated as suspicious.
We have contacted the East London Coroner's Court to find out more about the outcome of the man's post-mortem examination.
Det Sgt Chris Whiston, of the Havering crime investigation department, said: "We have made a number of enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death which continue.
