Homes in a Harold Hill street have suffered a power outage after smoke was seen coming out from underground cables.
Firefighters were called to Faringdon Avenue at 9.16am today and a cordon was put in place as a precaution.
London Fire Brigade said its crews liaised with multi-agency service partners before leaving the incident in the care of the power company.

The brigade, it added, had received six calls about the incident and a fire engine from Harold Hill fire station attended the scene.
The Recorder contacted UK Power Networks and a spokesperson said the heat produced from a cable fault can cause smoke to appear and that the smoke has since been brought under control.
Engineers, they said, are working “as quickly as is safely possible” to restore power to 81 customers on Faringdon Avenue following the underground cable outage at 9.07am.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused”, they added.
