Teenagers are being given a chance to go on stage in the summer holidays with a new production at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch about saving the planet.
Schoolchildren from Havering aged 12 to 18 are being invited to join New Beginning, a 60-minute production set in a forest about the impact humans have on the natural world.
It explores the story of “the magic of forests” and the effect of climate change.
The theatre is looking for youngsters keen to get into performance who are confident in front of an audience.
Rehearsals and performances run daily from August 26 to September 2, excluding Monday August 28.
The production is free to join, starting with a workshop at 2pm on Friday, August 4, for anyone interested in learning about improvisation and how to perform with an audience.
It is a collaboration by Queen’s Theatre with Romford’s Variable Matter design studio and the Royal Central School of Drama in Hampstead, working with designer David Shearing and young people’s director James Watson.
