A Harold Hill man who was caught drink driving twice in four days has avoided prison.
Neil Tarrant, of Sevenoaks Close, was driving his Vauxhall Vivaro in Hall Lane, Upminster on February 20 when he was stopped by police and breathalyzed.
The 48-year-old gave a reading of 96 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal driving limit of 22 micrograms.
Four days later, on February 24, he was driving in Squirrels Heath Road, Harold Wood when police pulled him over again.
This time he gave a reading of between 139 and 144 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
On February 27 he pleaded guilty to two charges of drink driving, before appearing at Barkingside Magistrates' Court for sentencing on March 29.
Tarrant was given an 18 week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months meaning he won't see the inside of a cell unless he commits a further offence.
He was also disqualified from driving for 23 months and ordered to undergo treatment for alcohol dependency.
