East 17 and Artful Dodger’s Robbie Craig will be among the stars at this year’s switching on of the Christmas lights in Havering.
Visitors to the annual event will be able to enjoy hits such as the band’s 1994 Christmas number one Stay Another Day, plus performances from the Razzmataz Theatre Group, Harold Hill vocalist Miss Morgon and Rise Park swing-singer Mark Walker.
A preview of Queen’s Theatre’s Sleeping Beauty pantomime is also planned.
Hosted by Time 107.5FM and sponsored by Romford BID and supported by Razzmataz Theatre Schools, this year’s event will be held on November 17 in Market Place, Romford.
Kicking off at 4.30pm, the switch-on is lined up for 6.30pm, following a fireworks finale.
Cllr Ray Morgon, leader of Havering Council, said: “The festive lights switch-on at Romford Market Place is such a highlight in the Havering calendar and is when Christmas gets fully underway in the borough.
“I hope everyone comes along to enjoy the entertainment and fireworks as we count down to Christmas in Havering.”
The event is the first of a number of switch-ons and events taking place across the borough in the run-up to Christmas.
